About CURE's Research

The Centre for Urban Research and Education (CURE) is a multi-disciplinary network of researchers, primarily from Carleton University, who share an interest and commitment to strengthening municipal and urban affairs. With diverse experience, expertise and perspectives, the CURE network carries out collaborative research in areas including community governance, citizen engagement and local capacity building around planning for infrastructure to support social, economic, and environmental sustainability.

About CURE

Formed in 2004, the Centre for Urban Research and Education was established to facilitate individual and group research and education activities in urban public policy and management. Housed in the Faculty of Public Affairs, it brings together faculty members from the:

  1. School of Public Policy and Administration
  2. Geography
  3. Sprott School of Business

It also incorporates existing research units, notably the Centre for Voluntary Sector Research and Development (CVSRD) and the Carleton Centre for Community Innovation (3CI).

CURE is designed as a research network that draws on the strength of existing units at Carleton University, and at the University of Ottawa.
